The Guild Artists shine at the Thomas Center's GFAA Show!

The guild artists are so prolific and all over the art scenes in Alachua County and beyond. For example, in Gainesville, a yearly beloved tradition is the lighting of the Christmas Tree at The Historic Thomas Center, located at 302 NE 6th Avenue. The grand ceremony, held on Dec. 6,  also welcomed the Annual Gainesville Fine Arts Association's Holiday Show at the Thomas Center, where several Artisans' Guild artists work can be seen on the upstairs mezzanine.  Our own Joyce Dewberry won an Honorable Mention for her lovely quilt displayed here.

"My Aging Bones" by Joyce Dewberry won Honorable Mention.
Guild Artist Joyce Dewberry said " Recently I applied to have two of my wall art quilts in the GFAA Holiday Exhibit at the Thomas Center. The art quilts are moderately large and I must say they both look so nice on the walls in the conference room, which is adjacent to the mezzanine where most of the art is hung. The entire show is very fine, and I am very pleased to have my art a part of it.  This year for the first time the show is juried. Norman Jenson, a retired art professor for Santa Fe College and a well known artist, was the judge. I was delighted to have one my quilts win an honorable mention. "

Below you can see samples of the art from our artists, Virginia Chen, Linda Pence, Karen LeMonnier and Tina Corbett.  Photo's were taken while walking and observing the show so to see the true beauty of each art piece you would have to physically visit to the gallery where the art is on display and for sale until January 6, 2014.
